Psychological Testing

Diagnostic testing is a personalized process that helps us better understand how a person thinks,
learns, feels, and functions in daily life.
Through interviews, questionnaires, and evidence-based
assessment tools, psychological testing can provide clarity around concerns related to attention, learning, mood, anxiety, behavior, personality, and emotional wellbeing.

Our goal is not to “label” you, but to gain a deeper understanding of your unique strengths and challenges so we can provide meaningful recommendations and support. Many clients find that testing offers validation, answers, and a clearer path forward for themselves or their child.

Frequently asked questions:

What should I expect for the timeline?
The psychological evaluation process begins with an initial intake appointment to discuss
concerns, gather background information, and determine appropriate testing measures. This is
followed by a testing session where standardized assessments and questionnaires are completed
to better understand emotional, behavioral, cognitive, academic, or diagnostic concerns. After
testing, results are carefully interpreted and compiled into a comprehensive report with
individualized recommendations. Finally, a feedback session is scheduled to review findings,
answer questions, and discuss helpful next steps and supports.
It should be noted that the length of time for testing varies based on the referral question. Some
testing session can be between 4-6 hours long and may be completed across multiple sessions if
needed.

How do I get the results of the evaluation/testing?
After the evaluation and report are completed, a feedback session will be scheduled to review the
findings, discuss results, and provide personalized recommendations based on your individual
needs. Recommendation areas may include guiding treatment planning, identifying school or
workplace accommodations, coping skills and emotion regulation, personal development
activities, organizational supports, medical or other specialty evaluations if necessary, and
community-based resources and/or support groups. Upon completion of the evaluation and
feedback, clients will receive a copy of the report and recommendations.

Will my insurance cover a psychological evaluation?
Insurance coverage for psychological diagnostic evaluations varies depending on your individual
insurance plan and benefits. We encourage all clients to contact their insurance provider directly
to obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding coverage, benefits, eligibility,
and any out-of-pocket costs associated with diagnostic testing services. Self-pay options are also
