A note from Dr. Sosa: Eating Disorders are complicated medical and psychological illnesses that require comprehensive treatment. It's hard enough to face the reality that you or your loved one is suffering from an eating disorder and it is even more difficult to know where to turn in terms of treatment options. I am here to guide you through the process.
Prior to relocating to Wisconsin, I was the Clinical Director of Clementine Programs and later Oliver-Pyatt Centers, premier residential eating disorder treatment centers for adolescents and adults, respectively, in Miami, Florida. Additionally, I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) granted by the International Association of Eating Disorder professionals which distinguishes me as an expert in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, compulsive exercise, and disordered eating.
Eating disorders are incredibly complex and represent the highest mortality rate of all mental illnesses. I will help you dig deep to uproot factors fueling the eating disorder. I also understand the importance of nourishing yourself and work with local dietitians to heal your relationship with food. Lastly, since eating disorders have medical and nutritional ramifications, I will help you establish a treatment team consisting of psychiatrists, dietitians, and primary care physicians. Through this process, you and your family are at the center of your treatment team. If a higher level of care is needed (such as inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, or intensive outpatient programming), I will work with you and your loved ones to identify the best program for your needs.
Regarding my treatment approach, I utilize Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size (HAES) approaches in order to heal your relationship with food and your body.
